BIO Genesis is Live: Let Liquid Science Flow
The time has come: BIO Genesis, the BIO token generation event, is live! This is the first time you’ll be able to get BIO tokens before they become transferable in Q4 2024.
Key details:
- There will be four rounds of the BIO Genesis Event.
- During Round One of Genesis, the only way to get BIO is by swapping eligible DeSci tokens (below) with the protocol.
- This design is aimed at creating incentive alignment between BIO holders and DeSci DAOs in the network, while creating a diversified treasury for the BIO protocol.
- BIO Genesis targets approximately $5m in total contributed value.
- Once the cap is reached, the protocol will stop accepting new bids.
- Participants in Genesis Round One can claim their BIO tokens at the conclusion of the round, with 50% claimable immediately and 50% vesting linearly over 1 year.

A Scientific Network Is Born
During Genesis, you can exchange the following eligible bioDAO tokens for BIO:

Our growing network of bioDAOs unite patients and scientists around new ways to crowdfund and commercialize research, with more transparency and less friction compared to traditional funding and IP development models.
The vision for BIO Protocol is to drive more capital and talent to bioDAOs through:
- Curation: Vote on the scientific communities (bioDAOs) you’re most passionate about.
- Funding: Direct capital to those scientific causes, funding R&D that results in community-owned IP.
- Liquidity: Support onchain liquidity for the BIO network using the BIO token and other token holdings in the BIO treasury.
